However, in some cases, kids and adults might experience headaches, dizziness, chest pain, and shortness of breath. But the only way to know for sure is by visiting a doctor and checking your blood pressure.

What is Hypertension?

Hypertension is a condition where the pressure inside the blood vessels becomes too high. It's like having too much pressure in a water hose, which can cause it to burst. When this happens in our bodies, it can lead to serious health problems.

How is Hypertension Classified?

Doctors classify hypertension based on how high the blood pressure readings are. Here are the different categories:

  1. Normal Blood Pressure: When everything is just right, and there's no extra pressure on the blood vessels.

  2. Prehypertension: When the pressure is a bit higher than normal, but not yet classified as hypertension. It's like a warning sign to be careful.

  3. Hypertension Stage 1: The pressure starts to get higher, and the firefighter heart is working a little too hard.

  4. Hypertension Stage 2: The pressure becomes even higher, and it puts the body at a greater risk.

  5. Hypertensive Crisis: This is an emergency situation where the pressure becomes extremely high and needs immediate medical attention.

Hypertension can happen for various reasons. Some kids may have it because of their family history – if their parents or grandparents had hypertension, they are at a higher risk. Sometimes, it can be related to unhealthy habits like eating too much salty and fatty food, not exercising enough, or being overweight. Types of Hypertension:
